When contemplating the raising of animals, there are certain essential responsibilities that cannot be overlooked. The farm is the microcosm in which tragedies and triumphs of nutrition, environment, and conservation will be played out most directly in the lives of others. Since all mankind must eat to survive, ultimately, if we don't get it right on the farm, there is no hope for the world.
